More than 1800 people were killed and 4700 were reported injured after a powerful earthquake measuring 7.9 on Richter scale struck Nepal on Saturday flattening houses and buildings including the centuries-old Dharhara tower and triggering an avalanche on Mt Everest.
Another batch of around 100 Indians, who were stranded in earthquake-hit Nepal, were flown back here tonight in an Indian Air Force plane from Kathmandu.
With Nepal being hit by a massive earthquake, Prime Minister Narendra Modi today promised all possible help to it in this “tough” time as he spoke to its President Ram Baran Yadav and Prime Minister Sushil Koirala.

The iconic Dharahara tower in Kathmandu has been left damaged by Saturday's earthquake which swept across Nepal and northern India.
In the last edition broadcast on March 22, he had shared the concerns of farmers and said the government will take proper and prompt steps to resolve their problems and do its level best to help them tide over difficult situation.
