28 cows die at a shelter in Rajasthan

In a strange development in Rajasthan, nearly 300 cows were reported sick and 28 cows have died in two days owing to suspected food poisoning at a cow shelter in Hanumangarh district.
Nearly 300 cows fell sick owing to suspected food poisoning and 28 cows have died in the last two days, ‘gaushala’ (cow shelter) president Dayanand Khokhewala said.

A team of veterinary doctors is investigating and monitoring the situation in the shelter which houses nearly 2,000, according to Joint Director of the state’s Animal Husbandry Department, Madanlal.
