Over 100 surrendered naxals appeared for IGNOU entrance exam in Odisha
Over 100 surrendered Naxals appeared for entrance exam in Odisha’s Malkangiri district for admission into degree courses offered by Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) on Thursday (June 21).
The Naxals who have surrendered before police appeared for the final entrance test at the Central School in Malkangiri through the Bachelor’s Preparatory Programme (BPP), sources said.
’We want to be a part of society, that’s why we have taken this entrance exam’ ANI quoted one of the students as saying.
These candidates, after passing the entrance test, will be eligible for various bachelor degree courses offered by the university.
The governments in Naxal-hit states are running several schemes to bring the misguided people in the mainstream. These people are encouraged to give up arms and provided with basic facilities and financial aides to earn the livelihood.
