The cast and crew of Stree must be soaring high on their achievement as their recent release is doing so well at the box-office. Stree has finally made its mark in the coveted Rs 100 crore-club. Not only has the movie performed well commercially, but it has managed to win over critics as well. Here’s what paved the way to success for Stree:

The genre of horror-comedy remains untapped in Bollywood, yet for a filmmaker to come and change that norm and succeed at it paves the way for many others. The genre of horror-comedy is not a thoroughly explored and milked one as far as Bollywood is concerned. Therefore, trial and test method turned out profitable for the makers. 

Stree, however, has taken everyone by surprise with its impressive numbers, the credit goes to the actors who managed to win over the hearts of critics and fans with their impressive acting and grounded characters. Every cast member has been given ample screen time to showcase their potential.

The film, headlined by Rajkummar Rao and Shraddha Kapoor, has garnered a lot of praise from the audience and the word of mouth around the film helped it become one of the biggest weekend openers of the year. 

Looking at the films in competiton, Stree had its way clear all throughout the week. With only Manmarziyaan coming up in next week’s Hindi releases, it will ensure that Stree continues to perform well. The movie will acquire a good number of screens and shows in the coming week as well. 

Stree, directed by Amar Kaushik, also features Aparshakti Khurana, Abhishek Banerjee and Pankaj Tripathi in key roles. The film is bankrolled by Maddock Films and D2R Films.
