It was a big day for Sridevi's daughter Janhvi Kapoor, as her much-awaited debut film Dhadak hit the screens on Friday. Also starring Ishaan Khatter in the lead, the romantic drama is the remake of 2016 Marathi hit Sairat.

Being touted as one of the much-anticipated movies of the year, Dhadak was expected to do wonders in the box office. However, a quick look through the internet may dampen your spirit if you are yet to watch the flick.

From some sarcastic and hilarious memes to a scathing attack on nepotism, social media has been flooding with a series of negative response ever since the Shashank Khaitan directorial opened in theaters.

Though movie buffs' response for the Janhvi-Ishaan starrer was not up to the mark, several B-town biggies have praised the new comers for their performance in Dhadak.

Taking to Twitter, Janhvi's uncle and Bollywood actor Anil Kapoor said, “Saw #Dhadak last night and all I have to say is #JanhviKapoor & @imIshaanKhatter both are already stars! Their innocence & love will steal your hearts for sure! Loved it!@DharmaMovies @karanjohar @ShashankKhaitan @ZeeStudios".

Let's have a quick look at more tweets from other industry wigs, who have showered their love and blessings over the young kids for their hard work and impressive performance in Dhadak.

The story of Dhadak revolves around the lives of two small town kids Parthavi (Janhvi Kapoor) and Madhukar (Ishaan Khatter), who fall in loved and took to street to make their union successful. Torn between society and their families fored the love birds to leave their home.

Will the simple and passionate love story between Parthavi and Madhurkar be successful? Will they be able to live happily ever after? Rush to your nearby theatre and get the answer of your million dollar question.
