Janmashtami, also known as Krishna Janmashtami, is a Hindu festival celebrated across the country on September 2, Sunday. This is the most anticipated festival by the Vaishnavas and is celebrated with great fervour as the birth anniversary of Lord Krishna. Temples are adorned with flowers and lights, many cultural programs are held and Krishna idols are embellished with fancy clothes and beautiful ornaments. Devotees in various parts of the globe offer their prayers and organise bhajan, kirtan, and Satsang meetings to celebrate the birth of Lord Vishnu’s eighth incarnation, Krishna.
