Ind vs SA, 1st T20I: Dhawan's fifty, Bhuvi's fiery spell helps India notch 28 run win over South Africa, claim 1-0 lead

India defeated South Africa by 28 runs to clinch the first T20 international and claim 1-0 lead in the three-match series. South Africa won the toss and elected to field first but the bowlers didn’t quite justify JP Duminy's decision. 

The Indian openers Rohit Sharma and Shikhar Dhawan started the Indian innings on a thunderous note. Shikhar’s stellar knock of 72 runs helped the Men in Blue post a convincing total of 203 on board. 

Dhawan’s magnificent innings included 10 fours and 2 sixes at an average of 184.61. The left-hand batsman scored his fourth half century in T-20 international matches.

The Proteas batsman while chasing the target of 204 were unable to create pressure on the Indian bowlers.

Bhuvneswar Kumar gave early jitters to the South African team and scalped five wickets to became the man of the match.  Hardik Pandya, Yuzvendra Chahal and Jaydev Unadkat chipped in with one wicket each.

Riding high on confidence after a 5-1 ODI series victory, Virat Kohli and company maintained the momentum in T-20  matches as well.
