Shooter Anish Bhanwala clinches gold at ISSF Junior World Cup 2018
The 15-year-old National Champion Won Over China’s Zhipeng Cheng, Concluding The Title With 29-27 Points. Bhanwala Shot 585, While Second Qualifier Jeuming Zhang, Also From China, Managed To Shoot A 579, Which Made Him 6 Points Behind Bhanwala.
Shooter Anish Bhanwala secured a first position in the 25m Rapid Fire Pistol title, clinching a gold for India at the International Shooting Sport Federation (ISSF) Junior World Cup in Sydney on Monday.
The 15-year-old national champion won over China’s Zhipeng Cheng, concluding the title with 29-27 points. Bhanwala shot 585, while second qualifier Jeuming Zhang, also from China, managed to shoot a 579, which made him 6 points behind Bhanwala.
At the end, Bhanwala and China’s first qualifier Zhipeng were fastest in the blocks, shooting four each in the first five-shot series. After that, Bhanwala went ahead of Zhipeng by 9-8, thus maintaining a gap of two, and clinched the number 1 spot in the title.
Bhanwala also teamed up with Anhad Jawanda and Adarsh Singh in the same event to seal a silver medal for the team and raise the score to 1714, while China stayed at 1733.

Anhad Jawanda and Rajkanwar Singh Sandhu have also reached the individual final simultaneously, thus finishing fourth and sixth respectively. Sandhu got eliminated after four series, while Jawanda ended up at the fourth position with 17 hits.
India is at the second position in the overall tournament with 15 medals, six gold, three silver, and six bronze, in its name. The first position is grabbed by China, while host Australia, Italy and others stand behind India.
