US Open: Rafael Nadal trounces Andrey Rublev in straight sets, marches into the men's singles semis

Spaniard Rafael Nadal trounced Russian Andrey Rublev 6-1, 6-2, 6-2 in the quarterfinals at Flushing Meadows on Wednesday. He did it in straight sets to seal berth in semi-final in the US Open 2017.

In another quarter-final encounter No. 3-seeded Roger Federer is locking horns with 24th-seeded Juan Martin del Potro. Winner of this encounter will face Nadal in the semi-final.

If Federer gets through, there will be blockbuster semi-final in the offing. Millions hope for this to happen.

Federer owns a record 19 Grand Slam men's singles titles, five at the US Open; Nadal ranks second overall with 15, two in New York.
