Imran Khan is the new Pakistan Prime Minister
Cricketer-turned-politician and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chief Imran Khan took oath as 22nd Prime Minister of Pakistan at the President House in Islamabad on Saturday. The oath of Imran, who defeated Shahbaz Sharif-led PML-N in July 25 Pakistan general elections, was administered by President Mamnoon Hussain. The Oxford-educated Pasthun, who launched Tehreek-e-Insaf, which means the movement for justice, in 1996, said that he reached this place after struggling for 22 years. Former Indian cricketer and now a cabinet minister in Punjab government, Navjot Singh Sidhu, was among the special guests invited by Khan's team to attend the ceremony.
