Winters are just around the corner. People are prone to cold and flus during winters. Winterising your diet can prove to be of immense help fighting different infections while staying healthy at the same time. Choose a diet which is rich in nutrients, proteins and specially Vitamin D which becomes rare in human body during winters due to lack of sun exposure.
1.Root vegetables
Eat lots of root vegetables like beets, carrots and turnips that can withstand the cold weather. Roast carrots for a boost of beta-carotene, or boil turnips for vitamins C and A.
2.Oatmeal
It is much more than a convenient breakfast. It is a rich source of nutrition and Oatmeal is high in zinc (important for proper immune function) and soluble fiber (associated with heart health).
3.Soup
It is considered winter’s perfect food. Pair your soup with a side of 100 percent whole grain crackers for a dose of grains.
4.Spicy tuna roll
You can try sushi too. Choose rolls lined with tuna or salmon. Food sources of the bone-healthy vitamin become even more essential during winters.
5.Broccoli and cauliflower
Broccoli and cauliflower are both high in vitamin C, which is associated with enhanced immune function. These vegetables can prove to be your best source of defence against winter sickness.
