Archery team selected for South Asian Games

The Archery Association Of India Today Announced A 16-member Team For The 12th South Asian Games 2016, Which Will Be Held Here Next Month.

The Archery Association of India today announced a 16-member team for the 12th South Asian Games 2016, which will be held here next month.

Jayanta Talukdar, Binod Swansi, Tarundeep Rai and Gurucharan Besra will represent the country in the Recurve men’s team event while Deepika Kumari, L Bombayla Devi, Madhu Vedwan and Laxmirani Majhi have been selected for the corresponding women’s event.

In the Compound events, the men’s team comprises Rajat Chauhan, Abhishek Verma, Manash Jyoti Changmai and C Srither, while P Lily Chanu, V Jyothi Surekha, Swati Dudhwal and Purvasha Sudhir Shende mnake up the women’s team.

The list was released by AAI assistant secretary Gunjan Abrol after the selection trials were held here on Tuesday and Wednesday.

Archery at the South Asian Games is scheduled to be held at the Polo Grounds here between February 2 and 9.
