After 16 years of love tale, actor and filmmaker Farhan Akhtar is officially parting ways from stylist Adhuna Akhtar, with whom he had tied knot in 2000.
Adhuna had met Farhan while he was working on his directorial debut Dil Chahta Hai, the two then dated for about three years before they tied knot with each other.
In last few days there were many reports about their separation, but now things have become clear as they both came up clearing the rumour about their relationship.
Farhan and Adhuna Akhtar have released an official statement about their separation. It said, “This is to announce that we, Adhuna and Farhan, have mutually and amicably decided to separate. Our children remain our priority and it is immensely important to us, as responsible parents, that they be protected from unwarranted speculation and public glare. We sincerely request that we are given the privacy that is required at this time to move forward in a dignified manner.”
The couple have two children Shakya and Akira. The parental custody will be decided post divorce.
