New Delhi:

‘Taandav’- a short movie starring Manoj Bajpayee is fine art where in a short time span of only eleven minutes, the director Devashish Makhija tells you the entire life of a common man.

The movie tells you about what grapples a man’s mind when he has to choose between the materialistic world and the own conscience. Vajpayee, the honest cop, is stuck between the choice of right and wrong.

Vajpayee is asked for a bribe amount by a school principal for his daughter to get admission. The demand of bribe (donation) makes the honest cop angry, but concerned for his daughter, he resists himself and gets muddled about what to do next?

Meanwhile, he gets a chance to run away with recovered money in a raid.

The cop makes the right choice of not running away with the money, but submits the full amount in the police station. However, he still has the sense of obvious guilt of not doing away with something which would end the miseries of his family.

While on duty, the man depressed with the thought, is engrossed in mulling that what has happened to his life.

At this point something amusing happens. And the movie communicates its message in a beautiful manner that ‘the man is happy – the moment it wants’.
