Famous Urdu poet Nida Fazli passes away, died of heart attack

If you have occasionally hummed the famous tunes of ‘Hosh Walon Ko Khabar Kya’ from Sarfarosh movie, you will be dismayed today as the man who was behind this beautiful song has left us forever.

Noted Urdu poet and film writer Nida Fazli, 78, Monday passed away following a severe heart attack in Mumbai.

Popularly known as Nida Fazli, the writer’s original name was Muqtida Hasan Nida Fazli whose father was also an Urdu poet.

After partition, Fazli’s parents moved to Pakistan, but he decided to stay in India i.e. where his heart was.

The poet was known among readers and ghazal singers for his elegant presentation and exclusive use of colloquial language for ghazals, dohaas and nazms.

He also penned several hit songs for movies like ‘Aa bhi jaa….' (SUR), ‘Tu Is Tarah Se Meri Zindagi Mein'(AAP TO AISE NA THE), ‘Hosh Waalon Ko Khabar Kya'….(SARFAROSH).

RIP Nida Fazli Sahab. You will be missed forever.
