Ranchi:
A Hindi teacher was on Wednesday arrested for allegedly killing a class VII student because she did not like the boy’s friendship with her 11-year-old daughter, reports said.
Nezma Khatoon, her husband and two others have been arrested on charges of killing 12-year-old Vinay Mahto. The boy was found outside the teachers’ quarters, where Nazma lives with her family.
"The arrests have been made on the basis of evidence gathered during scientific investigation assisted by forensic experts," Ranchi SSP Kuldeep Dwivedi said.
"It was an honour killing. Vinay was killed because of his affair with the teacher's daughter," he added.
According to the police, the boy was captured on a CCTV camera while he was walking out of his hostel room midnight and going towards the teachers’ quarters where the girl lives.
He was later found badly wounded by a teacher at the main entrance of the teachers’ hostel. He died later in a hospital.
