Hollywood divas Cate Blanchett, Charlize Theron and Margott Robbie set a vibrant tone at the 2016 Oscars red carpet as they opted for bright hues like red, blue and golden while Indian beauty Priyanka Chopra charmed in a white gown in her debut appearance.

Chopra opted for a white embellished strapless gown by Lebanese designer Zuhair Murad at her maiden Oscars where she presented.

Blanchett rocked a seafoam gown with floral embellishments by Armani Prive. She also sported a brand new short hairdo.

Robbie turned heads in a plunging gold Tom Ford gown. Made of a metallic sequinned fabric with a snakeskin-like texture, her gown featured long-sleeves that fitted her slender arms perfectly.

Theron looked stunning in a red deep-v Dior number, paired with an incredible diamond necklace. Actress Rachel McAdams opted for a beautiful emerald dress. Wearing her blonde hair tied back, she shone out among the famous faces.

Actress Reese Witherspoon stood out in a purple long elegant gown. Adding bright red lippy and wearing her hair loose and straight, it was an effortless look.

“Room” actress Brie Larson went for a plunging blue Gucci gown, which was marked with ruffled skirt and train, along with a sparkling belt. The young star opted for a a natural look with her hair elegantly tied back.

Actor Tom Hardy’s wife Charlotte Riley wore a black gown by Indian designer duo Gauri and Nainika.

Singer-actress Lady Gaga went low-key with a white Brandon Maxwell suit gown. The star showed a hint of her quirky style in the one-piece, but left her orange Bowie-inspired hair behind as she once again went au natural.

Actress Jennifer Garner looked classic beauty in a black Atelier Versace low-cut number, flashing a hint of her leg in sky-high stilettos.

Actress-model Olivia Munn was vibrant in an orange Stella McCartney one-shoulder, while Daisy Ridley shone out from the crowd in a silver and light blue Chanel dress. The star showed off her legs in the low-cut number, and added high matching heels.

Olivia Wilde took the plunge in a daring white Valentino haute couture dress. The star risked all in the revealing white dress, showing off major cleavage outside.

“Modern Family” star Sofia Vergara opted for stylish dark tones. The brunette beauty stood out in a stunning navy Marchesa gown. With giant earrings and her hair tied back, she looked elegant.

Alicia Vikander went simple with a huge radiant yellow Louis Vuitton gown, hiding her figure beneath the one-piece.  The light make-up made her look pale.

Actress Kate Winslet looked simple yet stylish in a Ralph Lauren black off-shoulder dress which team with Nirav Modi jewellery. Jennifer Lawrence cut a pretty picture in a black lace ruffle gown by Dior.

“Brooklyn” actress Saoirse Ronan looked angelic in a sequined emerald Calvin Klein Collection gown. The young star completed the look with matching drop earrings.

Among the men, Leonardo DiCaprio, Eddie Redmayne and singer Sam Smith stood out, looking dapper in black-and-white tuxedo.

Bollywood actress Priyanka Chopra has emerged as the second highest searched presenter globally in ‘Red Carpet Dress’ for her debut Oscar appearance.

According to an analysis of data by global search engine Google, the first time Oscar presenter Priyanka Chopra is the second most searched celebrity in the Red Carpet Dress category across the world.

The 33-year-old former Miss World, who rose to fame internationally with last year’s ABC thriller “Quantico”, opted for a white elegant strapless gown by Lebanese designer Zuhair Murad with a neat pony tail and diamond accessories for presenting the best editing Oscar.

In an official release, Google today said: “Given the hype and mystery around the dresses to be worn by the top actress at the Oscars, the top searched contenders for the Best Red Carpet Dress are Olivia Wilde, Priyanka Chopra, Jennifer Lawrence, Charlize Theron and Saoirse Ronan.”

The search engine said the current year began with a “never-seen-before” search trends interest for the 88th Academy Awards and has witnessed an 70 per cent growth compared to 2015.

Of this, as high as 50 per cent of all Oscar searches worldwide have originated from the USA, while markets that make up to the next 30 per cent of the search share include the UK, Canada, Australia and Spain.

“India contributes to about 2 per cent of the global searches for the Oscars and still makes it to the top 10 markets for Oscar searches,” Google said.

In India, the most searched among the nominees for ‘Best Picture’ is the “Revenant,” followed by “Mad Max: Fury Road.”

For all the Indian fans, Leonardo DiCaprio emerged as the most popular nominee in the race for ‘Best Actor’, while Matt Damon follows as the second most searched contender.

Among the Best Actress nominees, Cate Blanchett is the most-searched nominee in India, followed by Jennifer Lawrence.

The top directors at the 88th Academy Awards being searched for include Alejandro Gonzalez Inarritu (‘The Revenant’), Adam McKay (‘The Big Short’), George Miller (‘Mad Max:Fury Road’), Lenny Abrhamson (‘Room’) and Tom McCarthy (‘Spotlight’), Google said.

In 2016, searches around the Oscars are trending to be the top query worldwide in the Art and Entertainment category, and the same trend is being seen in India as well.
