New Delhi:

Actor Salman Khan, who is facing heat these days for his 'rape' remark, said he must remain silent to avoid troubles.

Dabangg Khan had landed in controversy for his remark that he felt like a "raped woman" after one gruelling shoot for his upcoming "Sultan" film, which tells the story of an ageing wrestler trying to make a comeback.

"When I used to walk out of the ring, after the shoot, I used to feel like a raped woman. I couldn't walk straight," the 50-year-old had said in the interview published on an entertainment portal.

The National Commission for Women has also demanded an apology from the star after social media slammed him for being unreasonable.

"We have asked Salman or his lawyer to appear at our office at 2 PM on June 29 to give their clarification over the remarks," Commission Chairperson Vijaya Rahatkar told PTI.

"If the actor does not turn up we will presume he has nothing to say and will proceed unilaterally in the matter," she said.

Salman Khan was last seen avoiding media personnel at Mumbai Airport, while he was on his way to attend an award ceremony in Madrid, Spain.
