The Bombay High Court had last year given clean chit to Bollywood actor Salman Khan in 2002 hit-and-run case. However, the Maharashtra government was unhappy over the decision and had moved the Supreme Court challenging the Bombay High Court’s decision.
The Supreme Court on Tuesday admitted Maharashtra government’s appeal challenging the Bombay High Court verdict acquitting Salman in the case.
The court has refused to put the hearing on fast-track. "If you want the hearing on fast track, you can approach the CJI for the same," SC bench headed by Justice Khehar was quoted as saying.
The Bombay High Court had given a clean chit to the actor in the case on December 10 last year, observing that the main was 'wholly unreliable.'
