New Delhi:

The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) MP Bhagwant Mann has been suspended from Parliament as he live-streamed his arrival at parliament last week which triggered outrage among other MPs who said he willfully jeopardised security.

Furthermore, Lok Sabha Speaker Sumitra Mahajan today said a committee of nine members will now investigate the incident. The report shall be submitted by August 3. Mann has been advised by Mahajan to not attend the Lok Sabha till a decision is made about how he should be penalised.

The AAP MP rose to controversy after he recorded a video of Parliament premises and uploaded it on Facebook which was then shared numerous times. The other MPs from across the parties reacted sternly over this and accused him of risking security of parliament.

The video showed Mann’s car entering parliament from the gate which was used in a terror attack in 2001 wherein nine people were shot dead along with five terrorists. Mann said his intent was to allow his constituency to witness his routine as a parliamentarian.

In the 12-minute video, he is heard saying "Now I will show you something you have never seen before.”  Besides, Mann also filmed the room where questions are selected from a host submitted by MPs for discussion in the Zero Hour that begins the day's proceedings.
