“There was (an) emergency landing due to a medical reason at 7 AM today. Oman Airway’s flight that was flying to Chennai from Muscat had a woman passenger who reported sick mid-air,” Dabolim Airport director, Bhupesh Negi told PTI.

The passenger was later declared dead by doctors, he said.

Goa Police, which lodged a case in this regard, said the woman passenger was referred to government-run Cottage Hospital at Chicalim, near the airport. “She was declared brought dead by doctors at the hospital,” a police official said.

The flight later took off to its scheduled journey. Details of the passenger were awaited.

In another emergency landing today, Dubai-bound IndiGo flight made an emergency landing at the Mumbai airport this morning following alleged unruly behaviour of a passenger.

“An IndiGo flight from Dubai to Kozhikode made an emergency landing at Mumbai airport at 0915 hrs due to unruly behaviour of a passenger,” a Mumbai airport official said. “After offloading them, the flight took off to its scheduled destination at 1050 hrs.”

The airport police said one passenger has been detained for questioning.

However, the official denied reports that the passenger raised pro-ISIS slogans.
