Fire department in Bengaluru is using boats to rescue passengers stuck in rain, traffic jam

New Delhi :

Massive traffic jams across major metro cities today brought lives to a standstill. Heavy rains have created havoc amongst travellers as miles long traffic snarls are being reported from Delhi, Mumbai and Bengaluru.

Mumbai:

Hundreds of morning commuters in Mumbai were stuck in heavy traffic, as the city received a whopping 110 mm rain on Thursday. According to Skymet Weather, heavy rain will continue to mark its presence in the financial capital city till next couple of days. According to reports, by 11 am, traffic was barely moving at Western express highway and was completely halted on SV road as Andheri subway was closed due to water logging. 

Delhi:

In National Capital, slow moving traffic was reported at ITO and Azad Market chowk. Rains coupled with Kanwar Yatris movement in and around Delhi borders has pushed the city to the traffic to a stop. Delhi-Gurgaon commuters witnessed one of the worst traffic jams last night as thousands remained stranded on NH-8 for over 15 hours. The Gurugram jam was cleared in the morning, even as the local police advised commuters to avoid the road as the streets were still inundated in water. 

Bangalore:

Also reeling under heavy rains, several parts of Bangalore have turned into small lakes. The situation in IT city has become so grim that fire department is using boats to rescue passengers stranded in rains and traffic jams.
