New Delhi :

Brazil unfolded a vast canvas celebrating its rainforest and the creative energy of its wildly diverse population to the tune of samba in welcoming the world on Friday to the Rio Olympic Games 2016. The South American city faced many problems including Zika virus, economic slump, political instability and many more. The games are expected to be viewed across the globe.

In the opening ceremony, Beijing Gold medallist Abhinav Bindra was the flag bearer for India. The Rio games started in a bad note for India as shot putter, Inderjeet Singh, was banned for doping, and wrestler Narsingh Yadav all most lost his berth.
