New Delhi:
A fresh CAG report accuses the AAP government of spending a hefty 33.4 crores on a single ad campaign. The report further raises several questions about the Aam Aadmi Party government's publicity blitz in its first year in power.
The report also highlights the ads attributing a number of state government's achievements, an allegation that Delhi’s opposition parties, BJP and Congress have repeatedly made.
The CAG report questions AAP government on its total expenditure on ads, to which the party is unable to give details of.
The report says, it spent over 70 lakhs on ads attempting to discredit the central government by blaming it for Delhi's deteriorating law and order situation.
AAP and the BJP on Wednesday sparred in the Assembly with the latter accusing the ruling party of “unconstitutionally hiding” a purported CAG report “which exposes wastage of public money” on advertisements and demanded the House be “dissolved” over the issue.
