Indian Navy Western Naval Command has sounded a high alert after school children claimed that they spotted movement of some suspicious person’s in Raigad’s Uran in Maharashtra, reports said on Thursday.

They informed the police following which alert was sounded at Maharashtra Naval ammunition depot INS Abhimanyu.

Two school children told police that they spotted some men with weapons. Meanwhile, search operation is on and required assets have been mobilised. 

According to Navy sources, at around 11 am, students said they saw 5-6 men in Pathan suit type dresses talking to each other in a different language. They were spotted by students opposite to the Naval base.

# Navi Mumbai Police: After investigation, the school children who spotted the suspected armed men have been sent back home. Their identity has been kept secret due to security reasons. 300-400 cops from crime branch and local police are involved in search operations in the area. Force One's team is also reaching.

# Indian Navy Chief PRO DK Sharma: I am only confirming that Navy is at a high state of alert after getting this input ie regarding suspicious activity reported by some school children in Karanja  near Mumbai.

# Maharashtra DGP Satish Mathur: Two students have informed that they have seen suspicious men in Uran. While one student has claimed of spotting one person , the other has claimed to have seen five . Post the information, multiple agencies are probing it.

# Navy sources tell ANI: They were spotted by students opposite to the Naval base,as per students they heard the men say 'ONGC' and 'school' repeatedly.

# Navy sources: At around 11am, students said they saw 4 men in Pathansuit-type dresses talking to each other in a different language

# Navy conducts search operations after school children in Maharashtra's Uran claimed of seeing 5-6 men carrying weapons near INS Abhimanyu base.
