The all-rounder began his spell with two wickets in an over and then another to become the second fastest to 200 Test wickets in terms of matches (37), beating Dennis Lillee (38), Waqar Younis (38) and Dale Steyn (39), and only one match shy of Australia's Clarrie Grimmett (36).
India declared their second innings at 377 for five, forcing the umpires to call for early tea in the first cricket Test against New Zealand, today. India, thus, set a target of 434 runs for New Zealand to win the match and take early lead in the three-Test series.
Rohit Sharma was batting on 68 while Ravindra Jadeja was 50 not out as India played 107.3 overs in their second essay. For Zealand Mitchell Santner (2/79) and Ish Sodhi (2/99) picked up two wickets apiece.
