New Delhi:
The Justice RM Lodha committee on Wednesday moved Supreme Court seeking removal of BCCI top brass, including Anurag Thakur, for non-compliance of the apex court orders.
The Lodha panel sought replacement BCCI president Anurag Thakur and Secretary Ajay Sirke for flouting its timelines and failing to implement its recommendations.
On the Lodha panel report saying BCCI defied SC orders, the apex court said: "You (BCCI) are behaving like Lords. Fall in line else we will make you fall in line."
The SC said: "If BCCI thinks they are law unto themselves, they are wrong."
The apex court asked the BCCI to comply with its orders.
The panel in its report submitted to the top court said that the BCCI was not implementing its recommendations, & recommended measures for improving functioning of BCCI.
The panel pleaded to the Chief Justice of Supreme Court for an early hearing. The CJI responded back by saying, "we will hear the matter".
The SC has given BCCI time till October 6 to respond to the Lodha panel's report accusing board of stalling reforms at every step.
More details awaited.
