Bengaluru:

Indian paracyclist Aditya Mehta was forced to remove his prosthetic limb during a security check at Bengaluru’s Kempegowda International Airport. The orders to remove his limbs led himself to bleed. As Mr Mehta was getting late to catch the flight, he had hurt himself while wearing it back as he did it in hurry. This is second time in two months that he had to face this problem.

"They forced me to remove my limb. It took me 45 minutes to wear it back. While I was wearing it inside the room, the officials asked me to come out quickly as the take-off time was nearing. In that tension I started to push my stump very hard, and when I removed the limb in my house, I found I was bleeding," Mr Mehta told PTI on phone from Hyderabad.

Mr Mehta had also mentioned that as he was carrying injury, it was difficult to remove the prosthetic limb and wear it again. He is facing difficulty with security checks time and again. Earlier, he was also forced to remove the prosthetic limb at Delhi airport as well.

Mr Mehta emphasized that he pleaded with the officials that the process of removing prosthetic limbs and wearing it back will take at least 45 minutes and he needed to catch the flight in next 30 minutes. But, the officer denied the request.
