New Delhi:

Aam Admi Party MLA Naresh Balyan was on Friday arrested by Delhi Police in connection with an assault case. Yadav was booked last week for allegedly assaulting president of Resident Welfare Association (RWA) of Mohan Garden area, Henry George.

Later in the night, his supporters staged protest outside Uttam Nagar police station demanding his release.

On October 10, an FIR was filed against Balyan at west Delhi's Uttam Nagar police station. In his complaint, George had accused Balyan and his associates of tress-passing his office, attacking him and issuing threat to his life.

A case has been registered against Balyan under sections 323 (voluntarily causing hurt), 341 (wrongful restraint), 451 (assault) and 506 (criminal intimidation) of the IPC.

Later, one of Balyan’s associates filed a cross complaint against George accusing him and his aides of abusing and assaulting the MLA.
