The Panthic Talmel Sangathan and the Akal Purakh Ki Fauj (APKF) on Monday commemorated the birth anniversary of Guru Ram Das. Devotees, gatka parties and shabad kirtani jathas participated in a prabhat pheri. It started in the morning from Akal house in Roop Nagar concluded at Ghanta Ghar.
A religious programme was held at New Amritsar on Monday.
Guru Ram Das was the fourth out of the Ten Gurus of Sikhism and was given the title of Sikh Guru on 30 August 1574. He was Guru for seven years. Guru Ram Das was born in Chuna Mandi Lahore, Punjab on 24 September 1534.
Guru Ram Das was the planner and creator of the township of Ramdaspur which became the Sikh holy city of Amritsar
