Pakistan register win against West Indies in first day-night Test on Asian soil

Pakistan created history by winning the first day-night Test on Asian soil by defeating the West Indies by 56 runs in the Test match played in Dubai on Monday.

Pakistan created history by winning the the first day-night Test on Asian soil by defeating the West Indies by 56 runs on the fifth and final day of the first Test in Dubai on Monday.

Pakistan took a 1-0 lead in the three-match series. What made this win even more memorable for Pakistan was that it was their 400th Test match.

Darren Bravo scored a gritty century which defied Pakistan until the last hour of play until the southpaw succumbed to a brilliant leaping catch by leg-spinner Yasir Shah.

Leg spinner Yasir Shah continued his brilliant form with the ball by finishing with seven wickets in the match to dismiss West Indies for 289 in their second innings after resuming at 95-2. Meanwhile star pacer Mohammad Amir took 3-63.

Pakistan had made 579-3 declared in their first innings with Azhar Ali scoring an unbeaten 302. The remaining two Tests will be played in Abu Dhabi (October 21-25) and Sharjah (October 30-November 3).
