A day after a major fire at a hospital Bhubaneswar claimed 22 lives, ravaged areas of the medical facility were sealed on Tuesday ahead of a thorough probe as the state government geared up to ensure proper treatment of patients shifted elsewhere. Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday addressed BJP’s Parivartan rally in Mandi in Himachal Pradesh. The rally is aimed at giving the party a push before state assembly elections due next year. A massive fire broke out at SUM Hospital in Bhubaneswar on Monday evening that claimed 22 lives and left over 109 people injured. According to officials, nineteen people have been confirmed dead, while several others were injured.  Here are the top headlines of the hour:

Health Secretary Arti Ahuja, who visited the private Hospital this morning, said the Intensive Care Unit (ICU), dialysis and emergency units of the fire-hit medical facility have been sealed to ensure a proper investigation.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday addressed BJP’s Parivartan rally in Mandi in Himachal Pradesh. The rally is aimed at giving the party a push before state assembly elections due next year. 3. Bhubaneswar fire: PM Modi, CM Patnaik express grief over loss of lives in massive blaze

A massive fire broke out at SUM Hospital in Bhubaneswar on Monday evening that claimed 22 lives and left over 109 people injured. According to officials, nineteen people have been confirmed dead, while several others were injured. Voicing ‘serious’ concern over the fire incident at the Sum Hospital, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik described the mishap as ‘very tragic’.

Amid criticism that India failed to obtain consensus on reference to cross-border terrorism in BRICS declaration, External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj on Tuesday said threat of terror featured strongly in the narrative of the Summit and there was a growing recognition that it has become a truly global challenge. Two days after the BRICS Summit in Goa where India’s forcefully highlighted terror emanating from Pakistan, she said there was no bigger global challenge than “state-sponsored” and “state-protected terrorism, asserting those supporting terror networks must be made to pay the cost.

Reliance Industries chairman Mukesh Ambani has said that his new telecom venture Jio is not a gamble but a well thought-out and well-engineered business, while terming the trouble with interconnectivity as similar to a meritorious student "getting ragged". "It is no punt. It is a well thought-out, well executed, well engineered ecosystem. It is a Rs 2,50,000 crore investment," Ambani said at 'Off the Cuff' show organised by The Print, a digital media outfit owned by senior journalists Shekhar Gupta and Barkha Dutt.
