The festival of lights is just a few days away. While preparations for the festival start almost a week before the occasion many important things are not taken care off when celebrating by firing crackers. Diwali is celebrated with great enthusiasm, but one should take proper while handling crackers or fire lamps. Here are some preventive measues you should adopt for a Green Diwali 2016.

 
Stay away from pollution: If you believe in observing a Green Diwali and hate the after effects of the crackers, then you can stay away from the pollution by shutting the windows of your home during early evening of the festival. Wear masks if you have to stay out during the festival.

Follow safety measures: Follow safety measures when lighting crackers. Keep a first aid box near to you. You can also keep a bucket full of water near to you to provide help in case of an injury.

How to keep your pets safe: Animals are very sensitive to light, noise. Try to save your pet from the fright caused by the fire crackers. Keep them indoors and shut down all the windows so that they are away from the commotion. You can also make your pet wear headphones.

Precautions: Diyas should not be lighted near curtains. Store crackers in a cool, dry place and do not leave them exposed.

Eat safe: During Diwali, there are many cases of sweets prepared with artificial products. Avoid purchasing sweets from market and try to prepare some at home.
