Shillong: Assam Governor presents Bhupen Hazarika award to Lou Majaw

Lou Majaw has been presented with the 4th Bhupen Hazarika National Award by Assam Governor Banwarilal Purohit at a function organised by Sarhad, a socio cultural educational organization at Darbar Hall in Raj Bhavan.

Lou Majaw is an eminent singer and famous for Bob Dylan's tribute shows. He hails from Shillong in the North-Eastern India.

The Bhupen Hazarika National Award consists of a citation and a cheque worth Rs. 51,000.

"I'm honoured and humbled. This is not just for me but for all songwriters," Lou said after receiving the award.
