Instant messaging app WhatsApp has rolled out its much awaited video calling feature for users using the latest version of the app. An official update on Google Play store has already been issued.

Currently the popular service is only available on the beta version of the app and the full-fledged version for all users is expected to release soon.

Speculations were doing rounds from a long time about Whatsapp introducing video calling feature in addition to the audio calling feature. Recently the messaging service has also rolled out addition of GIF support in the messages.

The video calling option is can be used by pressing the call button, where the user now gets two options: Voice call with addition of Video call.

Users can also activate the video calls by going to Google Play Store and enrolling into WhatsApp beta program. The WhatsApp beta program ‘join-in option’ is present at the bottom of the WhatsApp Play store listing page.

To enable the service users at both sides making call should have the latest beta version of Whatsapp.

The company is also working on a feature which can enable sending full resolution images in addition to the two factor authentication for bettering the security.
