Nwe Delhi:

Scenes of police brutality have emerged from Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK) where residents staged protest demonstrations to mark 'Black Day' on October 2 against its army.

Protesters took to streets in Muzaffarabad and other towns where they displayed banners and shouted slogans against the Pakistani government saying that the country forcefully occupied the region on October 22, 1947.

"We want freedom, Pakistan should withdraw its forces from Kashmir at once, we can't take it anymore," ANI quoted a protester as saying.

To muzzle the protests, Pakistani authorities resorted to lathicharge and unleashed teargas shells on the protestors.
