Railways withdraws ban on 1st AC & 2nd AC waiting tickets, refund only through Cheque

Railways Has Withdrawn The Ban On 1st AC And 2nd AC WL Tickets On 13 Nov And Onwards. However The Rules For Cancellations And Refund Of Value Of Rs 10,000 And Above For Counter Tickets Booked Between 9 November And 11 November Have Been Revised.

New Delhi:

Railways has withdrawn the ban on 1st AC and 2nd AC WL tickets on 13 Nov and onwards. However the rules for cancellations and refund of value of Rs 10,000 and above for counter tickets booked between 9 November and 11 November have been revised.

 According to an advisory released by Railways, the refund of fare values above Rs 10,000 shall not be allowed in cash or through green pay order. The payment shall only be through Cheque/ECS payment.

Such ticket may be refunded only through filing of TDR, after surrendering of original ticket. TDR shall be filed within the prescribed time limit for cancellation of ticket across the counter as per the Refund rule.
