New Delhi:
Amid cash crunch and chaos following the Narendra Modi government’s decision to demonetise the high-value currency notes, new Rs 500 notes are now available at ATMs in Delhi. The circulation of new Rs 500 currency notes may further bring some respite to the citizens, who are struggling to withdraw money.
Although the Rs 2,000 notes had come into circulation, the new Rs 500 notes were yet to be passed on. Earlier on Monday, Rs 500 notes were issued in Bhopal.
From standing in long queues at ATM to spending the day without having adequate money, people are facing difficulties in day to day life.
The government scrapped the Rs 500 and Rs 1,000 currency notes last week and introduced new notes of Rs 500 and Rs 2,000.
