German automobile manufacturer Porsche is all set to launch Macan R4, the new variant of the Macan SUV in India on Tuesday.
The base level variant of the SUV, Macan R4 is going to be the most affordable car from Porsche in India.
The fourth variant in the current Macan series, the new Porsche car will be positioned below the current Macan Turbo petrol and Macan S diesel in the country. In term of competition, it will be a direct contender to the Jaguar F-Pace.
The new Macan R is powered by a 2.0-litre petrol motor that will produce 370Nm of torque and 249PS of power.
The vehicle’s all-wheel-drive system is going to be mated to a seven-speed PDK gearbox that allows the vehicle to sprint from 0 – 100kmph in just about 6.7 seconds and it can achieve a top speed of about 229kmph.
Interior of Macan R4 features premium leather upholstery, climate control, steering wheel audio controls, Bluetooth infotainment system and much more. For safety, it will have multiple airbags, ABS with EBD, stability control, traction control and more standard.
As for the design, the new model has retained its traditional design with foglamps that sit deep in the hood. The bumper gets a wide grille with fog lamps that sit neatly in the lower half. The rear section comes with wide large taillamps that flow from boot lid to the sides of the vehicle.
Although Mecan R4's price is yet to be confirmed by Porsche. Other models in the Macan category cost around 1 crore, so based on anticipation, it might be priced at Rs 75 lakh.
