Legendary West Indies Batsman Brian Lara has announced his association with a New South Wales pub cricket team for playing play  Division 5 grade cricket in New South Wales’ Hunter Valley in Australia.

The batsman who has highest Test score of 400 runs under his belt retired from International cricket in 2007.

Lara played his last One Day International match on 21 April 2007 in a dead rubber World Cup game against England. Although he played some competitive, when he featured in Masters Champions League T20 for Leo Lions in February 2015.

Fondly called 'The Price of Port of Spain', the 47-year old cricketing star signed up for the pub team at a bar with his teammates. 

With 11,953 Test runs under his name, Lara showed his excitement “What time do we play tomorrow?” Lara asked his new teammates after signing on the dotted line, an Australian newspaper reported.

Brian Lara also shared his positive views on reviving Test cricket and promoting the game with a league format.
