New Delhi:
An army jawan was martyred in an encounter between terrorists and security forces in Jammu and Kashmir's Bandipora on Friday morning. The slain soldier was from 13 Rashtriya Rifles of Indian Army.
The Indian Army also killed two terrorists during the encounter.
According to reports, the encounter started on Friday morning after J-K police and Indian Army was informed that two millitants were trapped in an Orchard in Naidkha area of district Bandipora.
In another incident in North Kashmir, a local militant reportedly related to Lashkar-e-Toiba surrendered before security forces at Tujjar Sharief Bomie, Sopore in Baramullha on Friday after an intensive gun-battle. The militant was holed up in a residential house when security forces, including 22 Rashtriya Rifles and Police cordoned off the house. His family were asked to make him surrender his mother and sister went up and made him surrender, reports said.
