Srinagar:

A local militant, who was trapped by security forces in Sopore area of Baramulla district, surrendered before the law enforcing agencies on Friday.

"Surrender of one local terrorist has been accepted at Tujjar, Sopore," an Army official said.

The official said army calls for other misguided local youth to shun path of violence.

This is second incident of surrender by a militant in Sopore area this month after being cornered by the security forces. On November 4, a Lashkar-e-Toiba militant had surrendered before the security forces.
