Former bureaucrat Sanjay Kothari was on Wednesday appointed chairman of the Public Enterprises Selection Board (PESB), the government's head-hunter.
The Appointments Committee of Cabinet has approved his appointment to the post for three years, said an order issued by Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT).
He has replaced Ajit Seth, former Cabinet Secretary, who was was last year appointed to the post. Kothari retired as DoPT Secretary in June this year.
PESB is entrusted with selection and placement of theposts of chairman, managing director or chairman-cum-managingdirector and functional director of central public sectorenterprises, among others.
