Television actress Sakshi Tanwar created a buzz in the tinselvile after she was roped in for superstar Aamir Khan’s much talked about movie ‘Dangal’. While she made it to the movie because of her acting prowess, not many are aware of the fact that it was Aamir Khan who recommended her name to the makers.
In fact, Sakshi was not the first choice for director Nitesh Tiwari for her role of Daya Kaur.
Apparently, Nitesh was looking to cast a fresh face opposite Aami, who plays the role of wrestler Mahavir Singh Phogat in ‘Dangal’. However, it was our Mr. Perfectionist who proposed Sakshi’s name to the makers and it was all because of his mother.
The ‘PK’ star recently shared a video from the sets of ‘Dangal’ on micro-blogging site Twitter, in which he he revealed that his mother Zeenat Hussain is an avid daily soap viewer and a huge fan of Tanwar. He asserted that it was because his mother’s love for the ‘Bade Ache Lagte Hain’ actress that Khan suggested Sakshi’s name for ‘Dangal’.

Besides, post working with the actress, Aamir has been all praises for her and has appreciated Sakshi for her flawless performance.
Well, it was indeed a big deal for Sakshi, who after achieving it big in Television industry, was seen struggling for her big Bollywood movie.
In the video, Sakshi also stated that she was least expecting a call for the auditions of ‘Dangal’ and even thought of it to be a prank in the first place.
And now Tanwar just can’t stop gushing about the movie and has high hopes with the movie. “One day universe decided to be generous and I became a part of Dangal,” Sakshi told a leading daily.
‘Dangal’ revolves around the struggle of wrestler Mahavir Singh Phogat, who went beyond the societal norms and made his daughter Geeta and Babita well known wrestlers.
Apart from Aamir-Sakshi, ‘Dangal’ features Fatima Sana Shaikh and Sanya Malhotra in pivotal roles. The much anticipated movie is scheduled to release on 23rd December.
