Activist and BJP leader Shaina NC has expressed anguish over the name and photographs of a Mumbai-based woman who was raped and murdered in her house appearing in some sections of media, during her meeting with chief minister Devendra Fadnavis in Mumbai on Friday.
Shaina, accompanied by noted lyricist and former Rajya Sabha MP Javed Akhtar, called upon the CM at Vidhan Bhawan in Nagpur.
The CM is camping in the second capital of state for ongoing winter session of the legislature.
Meanwhile, Akhtar and Shaina denied that politics was discussed at the meeting. Shaina told reporters she drew the CM's attention towards the name and photographs of the victim having appeared in a section of media, which she said is "unjust".
The 24-year-old physiotherapist was allegedly raped and murdered at her residence in suburban Vile Parle on December 6.
Shaina requested Fadnavis to consider relaxing the rules for organ donation for the sake of a middle-aged women who urgently requires a donor from outside blood relations to save her life for kidney transplant.
