Himachal Pradesh: Pension of retired employees will be increased

Shimla:

Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh on Saturday announced that the state government will increase the basic pension of its retired employees.

“The basic pension of retired employees will be increased by five, 10 and 15 per cent on attaining the age of 65, 70 and 75 years respectively from the next fiscal,” he said at the All India Pensioners Day function in Shimla.

The Chief Minister said it will put an extra burden of Rs 100 crore annually on the state exchequer.

Singh said his government had given financial benefits worth Rs 2,454.88 crore to its employees while pensioners had been benefited to the tune of Rs 970 crore.
