Cricketing legend Sachin Tendulkar has found inspiration from the performance of an Indian Idol Season 7 contestant. On the first episode of the new season of the famous singing realty show, a contestant from Arunachal Pradesh, Thupten Tsering’s audition touched Sachin’s heart as he shared his appraisal on Twitter.  

"This guy is special. He is amazingly positive despite his challenges. Truly inspiring, more power to you," Sachin wrote in a Twitter post. The episode was televised on Sunday night.

Minister of State for Home Affairs, Kiren Rijiu also took to Twitter to appreciate the talent from Arunachal Pradesh and thanked Sachin for his encouragement.

According to reports, Thupten Tsering lost both of his hands at the tender age of 5, in an accident when he was hit by an 11000-volt electric shock. He survived but doctors had to cut off both his hands.

Also popular with his nickname, ‘The Solo Performer’, Tsering sang hit Ae Dil Hai Mushki song, ‘Channa Mereya’ and impressed the trio of judges- Anu Malik, Farah Khan and Sonu Nigam.

Incidentally, Thupten Tsering is the second contestant from Arunachal who has made it to the Top 12 of Indian Idol 2016.
