New Delhi:
Anil Baijal, who served as Union Home Secretary in the Atal Bihari Vajpayee-led NDA government, has been selected as Delhi’s new Lieutenant Governor of Delhi.
According to ANI tweet, the Home Ministry has given a goa head for Baijal’s appointment as Delhi’s 21st Lieutenant Governor. Baijal was earlier in the executive council of the Vivekananda International Foundation.
Several other members of Vivekananda International Foundation have also been appointed to senior positions by the Modi government.

Anil Baijal, a 1969 IAS officer, has served as chief secretary Andaman & Nicobar, CEO of the Prasar Bharati, additional secretary in I&B Ministry, and as vice-chairman of Delhi Development Authority also.
Earlier in a surprised move, Najeeb Jung announced his decision to quit as Delhi L-G on December 22. This sudden move left many bewildered as he decided to quit 18 months before his eventful tern ends.
According to earlier reports, the names of Anil Baijal, Kiran Bedi and BS Bassi were doing the rounds for filling the vacancy caused by Jung’s decision.
