New Delhi:

Congress Vice President Rahul Gandhi on Friday kicked up a political storm by claiming that Pakistani agencies were approaching some victims of the Muzaffarnagar riots to lure them to terrorism.

The statement was made by the Gandhi scion on Thursday while speaking at an election rally in Indore.

Rahul said he had been told by an intelligence official that as a consequence of the communalisation in Muzaffarnagar, there was a group of 10-15 Muslim youngsters, whose kin were killed, with whom intelligence agencies of Pakistan have established contact.

Slamming Rahul for doing 'divisive politics', SP leader Kamal Farooqi said, "Rahul should know what he speaks at election rallies."

Senior Opposition leader Yashwant Sinha also lashed out at the Congress leader by saying, "How is Rahul Gandhi being briefed by Intel officers, what right does he have?"

Azam Khan also took notice of the remark and said, "An IB officer coming to him (Rahul Gandhi), disclosing secrets and he revealing it in rally, has put question on nation's credibility."
