Congress chief Sonia Gandhi on Monday called an urgent meet with top party leaders to introspect on the reasons behind party's massive defeat in assembly polls of four states.

The result for four stated in the assembly polls were announced on Sunday. While, results for Mizoram came on Monday.

During the meeting, the top leaders of the party will brainstorm on the loop holes which led to the humiliating defeat in Delhi, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh Assembly elections.

Sonia Gandhi had on Sunday said that the results of assembly polls were very disappointing and asked her party leaders to study "the many reasons for this defeat".

Congress chief Sonia and Vice-president Rahul Gandhi on Sunday congratulated opponents for winning in four states and also accepted their defeat.
